Government notes from the 1847 survey of the Third Parallel by Henry Wiltse returnd
40 chain distances through Sections 34 and 35. Notes from the 1853 subdivision of
T30N, R16W, by John Ryan, returned falling distances which were used to calculate
the following results. From this found monument we measure west about 2066.4' to
the found N1 /4 Corner of Section 4, T30N, R16W, and another 658.7', more or less,
to the found monument at the S1 /4 Corner of said Section 34. We also find a bend
at said N1 /4 Corner of over 1.5 degrees. (it should be a straight line for the half —
mile.) We measure east about 598.2' to a found monument at the NE Corner of Section
4, T30N, R16W, and another 2037.5', more or less, to a found monument for the S1 /4
Corner of Section 35. Original government distances were 627' and 2013' on a
straight line. We found a bend of about 4 minutes. Because of finding the mon—
ument we did not measure the 1 /2 mile north.
