(a) Identify the corner by
reference to the U.S.
public land survey system.

(b) Describe any record evidence, monument evidence, occupational evidence, testimonial evidence or
any other material evidence you considered, and whether the monument was found or placed.
At the time of the field work there were no records that I could find of this corner
having been restored or used in any surveying. No local residents knew of any monu-
ments in the vicinity, but Mr. Simonson was aware that the corner should be in the
roadway at his fence. The only occupation other than 1/4 lines and section lines was
the E1/16 line of Section 1, T30N, R16W. That fell about 6' east of a split of the
NE1/4 of Section 1. The Government distance for the SW1/4 of Section 31 was about
3' longer than measured. The monument was placed on the line between the N1/4 Corner
monument and the NW Corner monument found for Section 1, T30N, R16W, on the theory
that they should have been set only after the south line of Section 31, T31N, R15W.
was first reproduced as the senior line.
(c) In the plan view drawing below, provide reference ties to at least 4 witness monuments, or, if
the location Is within a municipality, to at least 2 witness monuments. (Witness monuments
sha 1 I be made of concrete, natural stone, iron or other equally durable material.}
Describe witness monuments.
(d) Show a plan view drawing
depicting the relevant
monuments and reference ties
which is sufficient in detail
to enable accurate relocation
of the corner monument if the
corner monument is disturbed.
Indicate north.

(e) . Describe any material discrepancy between the location of the corner as restored or
reestablished and the location of that corner as previously restored or reestablished
by distance and direction. Show the discrepancy on the plan view drawing under (d),
above. Show the distances between the corner as previously restored or reestablished
and (1) the corner as restored or reestablished, and (2) to at least 2 of the witness
monuments shown on the drawing in (d ), above. It appears to me that this monument
was not previously restored. Government notes indicate that the falling at the NE
corner of Sec ion►lwas 630 lks. We measure in excess of 30' longer than that. The notes
also indicate that the south line of the SE 1/4 was 40 chains. We measure about
251' longer than that. However, the Government distance to the west was returned at
43 chains, and we measure to the found monument within 3' of that. With the exception
of the E1/16 line in Section 1, T30N, R16W, no 1/16 or 1/64 lines have been lines of
title for more than 60 years.
(f) Was the corner restored through acceptance of (1) an obliterated evidence location, or, (2) a
found perpetuated location?
An obliterated evidence location pursuant to Sections 5-1 thru 5-19 of The Manual.
(g&h) Was the' corner reestablished through lost corner p ropo rt i o,na to methods? I f so, show the
method, including the directions and distances to other public land survey corners used as
ev i'bence or used for. proportioning in determining the corner location?
