and the City of Glenwood City
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Autumn Lindquist, Attorney for the City of Glenwood City, contacted Corporation Counsel
Heather Amos to discuss a parcel of land that the City of Glenwood City uses as their Recycling
Center. The parcel of land is located at 221 Water Street and is approximately 1.06 acres of land.
Title to the parcel of land was to be transferred to the City of Glenwood City pursuant to
Resolution 10 (96) from May 1996, but the legal description was not included on the Warranty
Deed recorded on October 2, 1996.
This resolution authorizes the County Board Chair and County Clerk to sign a Quit Claim
Deed transferring title of the 1.06 acres known as the Recycling Center from St. Croix County
to the City of Glenwood City.

1 WHEREAS, on May 21, 1996, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted
2 Resolution 10 (96),which addressed the exchange of parcels of land between St. Croix County
3 and the City of Glenwood City around the St. Croix County Fairgrounds; and

5 WHEREAS, on October 2, 1996, a Warranty Deed was signed by then County Board
6 Chair Robert M. Boche and then County Clerk Sue E. Nelson and recorded with the St. Croix
7 County Register of Deeds with the intent of transferring title of the parcels of land described in
8 Resolution 10 (96) (Doc. 550272) from St. Croix County to the City of Glenwood City; and

10 WHEREAS, the Warranty Deed failed to include a parcel of land in the legal description
11 that is utilized as the City of Glenwood City's Recycling Center, which is approximately 1.06
12 acres, located at 221 Water Street; and
13
14 WHEREAS, in order to correct the issue with the missing parcel of land that should have
15 been included in the 1996 Warranty Deed, a Quit Claim Deed needs to be executed by St. Croix
16 County to the City of Glenwood City to transfer title of the particular parcel from the County to
17 the City.

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
20 Supervisors that a Quit Claim Deed be issued to the City of Glenwood City from St. Croix
21 County to transfer title of the parcel of land known as the Recycling Center.

23 FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board Chair and the County Clerk are
24 authorized to sign the deed transferring title of the County parcel to the City of Glenwood City.
