Review the Written Responses of Candidates for County Administrator Position ADJOURN Items may be taken in different order * *Additions /Changes /Corrections • A quorum of the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors (County Board) may be present at this meeting. Therefore, this notice also serves as notice of a meeting of the County Board for the purpose of obtaining information relating to subjects listed above for use at future County Board meetings. • Items for County Board approval must be submitted to the County Clerk's office by Tuesdav morning preceding a County Board meeting. 4/22/2011 - -3:27 PM MINUTES OF THE ST. CROIX COUNTY ADMINISTRATON COMMITTEE April 27, 2011 1:00 PM Official Members Present: Sharon Norton - Bauman, Roger Rebholz, Lorin Sather, Buck Malick , Ryan Sicard, and Esther Wentz Others Present: Tammy Funk, Human Resources Administrator Adoption of Agenda: Date of Next Meeting: May 3 & 4, 2011 Approval Of Minutes Of Previous Meeting: New Business: 1. Review County Administrator candidates' written response Funk provided a summary of the process to the hiring panel. 28 candidates were asked to respond to the following question: At this time, St. Croix County is preparing to implement a pay plan for non - represented employees which includes a pay for performance component. What are you qualifications to administer a pay for performance plan and what would you suggest are the most important characteristics of such a plan? Candidates were instructed to limit their response to 1 page and to respond by email no later than 4/26. 5 candidates withdrew from the process Each panel member then reviewed the written response of each candidate. After each member completed their review, there was group discussion regarding the responses. 10 Applicants were jointly identified to be invited to video interviews which will be held May 3 and May 4. Funk will contact the candidates to schedule specific times and will work with the I.T. Department to arrange for the technical connections. Funk will notify those applicants that have not been selected for further consideration. There was discussion of onsite interviews to be held May 17 with up to 5 candidates and that the community members that have agreed to observe would be invited to attend that day. Funk will also notify the other committee chairs of the interview dates and invite them to attend. There was discussion of tours of the county facilities for candidates invited to onsite interviews as well as discussion of the role of department heads.
