Intent: OPPOSE SENATE BILL 275
(Opposing Proposed.requirements to again revise
the reporting form and the accounting procedure
set forth by National Committeee)
WHEREAS, it is acknowledged that the State Department of Revenue must annually
collect information as to the collection and expenditure of revenues at the local
government level, including counties; and
WHEREAS, as part of this requirement, the form used for this annual report
was drastically revised just three years ago; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the revised ... form the entire accounting
procedure was completely revised one year later; and
WHEREAS, the two preceeding measures resulted in great cost to all local
governments, including counties; and
WHEREAS, it has now been proposed, through the introduction of Senate Bill
275, to again revise the reporting form and the accounting procedure through
adoption of the governmental accounting standards set forth by the national
committee on governmental accounting and the municipal finance officers associa-
tion; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk forward a copy of this resolution
to the Governor, each legislator representing S. Croix County, the Senate Committee
on Governmental and Veterans Affairs, each County Clerk, the Wisconsin County Boards
Association and each municipal Clerk in t® Croix County.
