HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1977 (59)RESOLTIT'ION # OPPOSE ASSULY JOINT RESOLUTION 55 WHERF-kS, various county offices have been elected ever since the State Constitution was adopted; and WHEREAS, Assembly Joint Resolution 55 would permit the legislature, by law, to provide for making all but the offices of Sheriff and District Attorney appointive; and WHEREAS, it is felt that often an appointed official will not be as receptive to the needs of the people as would an elected official; and WHEREAS, it is also felt there is no valid reason for changing these offices from elective to appointive® NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, that this Board go on record as being opposed to Assembly Joint Resolution 55; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Governor, each legislator representing a portion of St. Croix County, members of the Assembly Committee on State Affairs, each County Board 'Chairman, and the Wisconsin County Boards Association® Dated at Hudson, Wisconsin, this day of C_t& _,7 1977 LILI, lk3"'t GENERAL SERVICES COMAITTEE STATE OF WISCONSIN SS COUNTY OF ST CROIX I, F.
