REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR FOR SUCH PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, St. Croix County presently does not elect a County
Surveyor, and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes 59.12 now provides that the County
Board may, by resolution; designate that the duties of a County
Surveyor, under Section 59.60 and Section 59.635, be performed by
any registered land surveyor employed by the County, and
WHEREAS, between ) . anuary 1, 1972 and December 31, 1976 St.
Croix County participated in a;resurvey program, as described in
Section 59.635, and
'WHEREAS, on April 8, 1977, in OAG 35-77, Attorney General
Bronson C. LaFollette concluded that after such a resurvey program
has been undertaken in a particular county, at least five per cent
of the corners must be reestablished each year so that the resurvey
will be completed within 20 years, and
.VHEREAS, the Zoning Committee and the Highway Committee have
met concerning this subject and do jointly recommend the approval
of the employment by St. Croix County of a registered land surveyor
to perform the duties of a County Surveyor under Section 59.60 and
Section 59.635, and
WHEREAS, the sum of 515,000 has been budgeted for calendar year
10.78 for the employment of a registered land surveyor.
NOW THEREFORE BE ILT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board- of
,Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that St. Croix County ap-
proves a resurvey program for all county corners, to be cr-)mpleted
within 20 years, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a registered lard surveyor be em-
ployed by St. Croix County for such program, within the budgetary
limit as appropriated by the County Board for each calendar year
of the program, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the registered land surveyor employed
by the County shall work under the direction of the Comprehensive, Pianoing
Zoning & Parks Committee, which shall supervise said surveyor during
the resurvey program, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said surveyor shall maintain an
office in such location as the County Board shall direct, as pro-
vided in,Sectilon 59.14(1).
