ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED TRANSPORTATION
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS. Section 85.08(5) of the Wisconsin Statutes authorizes the Wis-
consin Department of Transportation to make grants to the counties of
Wisconsin for the purpose of assisting them in providing specialized
transportation services to the elderly and the handicapped; and
WHEREAS, each grant must be matched with a local share of not less than
10% of each county®s allocation of state aids; and
WHEREAS, this body considers that the provision of specialized transpor-
tation services would improve and promote the maintenance of human
dignity and self-sufficiency of the elderly and the handicapped; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of St. Croix
hereby authorizes the St. Croix County Council on Aging to prepare and
submit to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation an application for
assistance under Section 85.08(5) of the Wisconsin Statutes, in conformance
with the application requirements issued by that Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
St. Croix does hereby authoriie the obligation of funds in the amount
as identified in Exhibit C of the application in order to provide the
required local match.
