Whereas interest and sign-up by farmers in the Farmland Preservation
Act is increasing in St. Croix County, and
Whereas money will be needed to implement the sign-up procedures of
the law (such as extra mapping, meetings, postage, etc.). and
Whereas the County Ag. Land Preservation Task Force has recommended
some aid to assist the sign-up of land owners, and
Whereas the projected University of Wisconsin Extension programs
budget for this past year (1977) will show a surplus of approximately
$750.00,
Be it resolved that the County Agriculture and Extension Education
Committee recommends that this (1977) $750.00 surplus be transferred to
the Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors and the County
Conservation budget for 1978: money to be used for implementation of
the Farmland Preservation Act.
