ST. CROIX COUNTY BOARD
RESOLUTION #_Z3 :�r7 I
WHEREAS, Wisconsin State spending has risen 273% in the past
ten years and is continuing to rise rapidly, and
WHEREAS, this rise has been more than twice as fast as the
growth of personal income, and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin,is one of the highest atates in the Midwest
in terms of the size of individual income taxes taken out of personal
WHEREAS, Senate Joint Resolution 33 proposes a Constitutional
Amendment that would allow goverment spending to increase only in
proportion to increases in personal income, and prohibits the State
.from creating or expanding mandated programs.of local governments, and
WHEREASP SJM 33 would lessen the tax burden of the individual
-by,-restricting the growth of state appropriations (except in dire
emergencies), and
WHEREASO SJR 33 cannot be enacted until it has been passed by
two successive sessions of the Legislature and ratifed by the people
of Wisconsin.
Supervisors go on record supporting SJR 33 and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a c® of this supporting resolution
be sent to Senator Radosevich and Representative Mohn and all Wisconsin
County Boards.
