BY APPLYING SAME TO SCHOOL AID FORMULA. I

WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin presently has some $400
million in surplus fundson Ott and
WHEREAS, Acting Governor Martin Schreibers f
publicly that he intends to request that the state surplus be
reduced by giving 20 to each resident of the state, and
1WHEREAS, a more equitable method to reduce the state surplus
would be to apply the I state surplus funds9 or a percentage of such
funds, to increase the school aid formula, and
WHEREAS, by increasing the mhool aid formula, local property
tax levies for school purposes would correspondingly be decreased,
with the net effect being a lesser % ` property ` yf, alocal
level,
regularSupervisorsv meeting in sessiong that the St. CroixCounty
Board of Supervisors recommends to theWisconsinLegislature that
the state surplus be reduced by applying those funds in whole or
in part, to the school aid formula, which would ultimately result
in a reduced local property taxe
