WHEREAS, St Croix County has recognized the problem of diseased trees,
especially elms and oaks; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has a problem of handling and disposing of
diseased trees; and
WHEREAS, Present disposal practices are expensive and wasteful of the
tree resource and scarce sanitary landfill space; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County understands the need to study the feasibility
of waste tree utilization and fuel conversion to save energy costs; and
WHEREAS, Financial aid is needed and available to carry out such feasibility
study;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,
in regular session, that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, authorizes
the County Planning Office to apply for funds to study, publish, and publicize
such feasibility;
