RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COUNTY APPLICATION FOR PLANNING AND MAPPING FUNDS
FOR DEVELOPMENT OF AN AG LAND PRESERVATION PLAN.
WHEREAS, St. Croix
County is experiencing rapid growth and develop-
ment; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County has as its major industry and employer,
agriculture; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County through the Ag Land Preservation Task
Force and the Ag Land Planning Advisory committee has begun to explore the
problem of loss of good agricultural lands to development; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County recognizes the need for planning to guide
development away from prime agricultural lands; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has made planning an integral part
of County Ag Land Preservation Programs (WIS STAT. Chapter 91); and
WHEREAS, the State of Wisconsin has provided funding for counties
to carry out such planning;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, in regular . session, authorize the County planning office to apply
for funds (M,5M) to complete such planning; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that St. Croix County demonstrates its
commitment to said program by authorizing the planner and other county employees
to devote extensive blocks of their time for the completion of the plan.
