RESOLUTION CREATING ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WISCONSIN FARMLAND PRESERVATION ACT
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Farmland Preservation Act of 1977 provides income tax
credits for farmers in counties that have adopted a county farmland
preservation -plan and exclusive agricultural zoning ordinance certified by
the Agricultural Lands Preservation Board, and
WHEREAS guidelines established by the Agricultural Lands Preservation Board
require the County Board to provide for citizen participation in developing
county farmland preservation plans and in mapping of areas to be included in
exclusive agriculture zoning districts, and
WHEREAS, the above guidelines also require the creation by the County Board
of.a local technical advisory committee composed of local staff personnel to
assist in the development and implementation of the county farmland preser-
vation program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,
that this Board create the St. Croix County Farmland Preservation Planning
Advisory Committee to exist for -the duration of the development of the
farmland preservation planning program and that the individuals on Attachment
A be appointed to the committee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a technical committee be created to advise the
above citizen committee and that'the following local staff be appointed to
the technical committee:
1. County planner
2. County Extension Resource Agent
3. County Zoning Administrator
4. Soil Conservation Service District Conservationist
5. Soil and Water Conservation District County Conservationist
6. DNR Forester
7. DNR Wildlife Manager
8. County Extension Agricultural Agent
9. UW-River Falls Extension Land Use Specialist
