RESOLUTION OPPOSING ThE R_"�_EPLOYMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
POSITIONS IN THE DHSS - DIVISION OF HEALTH 1979-81 BUDGET
Resolution
WHEREAS, the 1979-81 budget. of the Wiscons-in 1)epartrf.ent of
Health and Social Services proposes to "redeploy" 10-4 positions
in the Division of health, many of which now provide public
health consultation, education and environmental heal-1-1i services
to. counties and other Wisconsin municipalities, and.
WHEREAS, these proposed redeployments and conseQuent re-
duction of state public health services will -,�eop-ardize public
health in Wisconslin by leaving'a large part of its Population,
especially in rural areas, without basic public and environmental
he,--ilth services that help prevent disease and disability, and
tj' Sthe reduction of state public health services could

place a serious financial burdenoncounties, including St. Croix
County, if they are forced to pick up the state®s public health
consultation nsultation and environmental health services with no state
financi-al aid.

of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the St. Croix
Cc my J_.oard opposes most of the redeployment's of public health

BE.IT FURTTEIEER RESOLVED, that a coli--,y of this resolution be
sent by the County Clerk to Governor Lee S. Dreyfus, State
Senator i'-Ilichele Radosevich, Assemblyman Robert darer, and
Eonald Percy, Administrator of the State Department of He_,lth
and Social- 6ervices®
