HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1979 (14)RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statues, Section 176.30 and other statutes now set the minimum age of''18 for the drinking 'of alcoholic beverages, and WHEREAS,many problems have arisen in high schools, on highways .and across state lines which are attributable to this minimum age drinking law, and WHEREAS, it is felt that many problems with our younger generation could be averted and young. lives could be saved if the minimum age were raised to 19, and WHEREAS, public opinion favors a minimum drinking age of l9 for the consumption of alcoholic' beverages NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the said Board of Supervisors recommends to State Senator Radosevich and State Assemblyman Robert Harer that legislation be drafted,, introduced, and passed by both houses of the Wisconsin Legislature raising the minimum drinking age for alcoholic beverages from 18 to 19m BE 'IT FURTHER RESOLVED that `copies of this resolution be forwarded by the County Clerk to State Senator Radosevich and State Assemblyman Harero DATED this day of ,g 1979® NEGATIVE:
