BAN ON STUDDED TIR_S
TO THE ST. CROIX COUNTY 130AFD OF SUPErVIS�-'�
WHEREAS, studded tires have been tried in Wisconsin over a number
of years; and
WHEREAS, they are now banned from use in our state; and
WHEREAS, they have proven to be very costly to highway repairs
because of much more excessive wear to our highway; and
wHEREAS,a greater percentage of our highways (state, county and
town) are very much in need of repair; and
WHEREAS, funds for such repairs can only come through more taxation
of our citizens and are becoming increasingly more difficult to come by
N OW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE R J'OL EED that the St. Croix Counter Board
o Supervisors petition our Wisconsin State Legislature to continue the
ban on studded tires in our state®
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that our County Clerk forward copies of this
Resolution to State Senator Radosevich and State Assemblyman Rarer®
