VAEREAS9 under current law, no county employee can be a county board
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 155 would allow any county employee, except an
elected county officer., to be a supervisor, but would not permit such employee -
supervisor to vote on matters affecting his or her salary or fringe benefits; and
WHEREAS., the county board has the responsibility.of establishing policies
for the operation of various departments., adopts the budget of each department,,

affect the employee -supervisor and provides direct supervision for certain de -
WHEREAS, the St® Croix County Board feels no employee should have any vote
in any of the foregoing matters since they would all have an indirect affect on
WHEREA30 this bill would provide the potential for the entire county board
to be composed of county employees, thereby eroding the separation of the
legislative and administrative branches of county government.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,, by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,
that this Board go on record as being opposed to Assembly Bill 155.; and
FURTHER RESOLVED,, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded by the County
Clerk to Governor Dreyfus.9 State Senator Radosevich and State Assemblyman Harer®
