HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1979 (54)RESOLUTION RECOIL EFDING MANTI)ATORY TWO LICENSE PLATES FOR ,VEHICLES IN THE S7'J1'nT_E- OF �,IISCONSIN® Resolution #'_Z± y1f j ,'iHEREAS, Wisconsin Law presently provides for only one mandatory license plate on a particular vehicle; and WHEREAS, law enforcement personnel in the State of '),,"is - cousin have nearly unanimously recommended to the State of Wisconsin Legislature that it pass a law making it mandatory to have two license plates on a particular vehicle; and 'e,'HEREAS, Amendment 7 to Senate Substitute Amendment 1 to Senate.Bill 79 would have restored two license plates to vehicles, but the Amendment was defeated on the floor of the State Senate on May 29, 1979; and dHEREAS, an Amendment is being proposed through the Wis- consin Assembly to provide for a mandatory two license plates per vehicle, ITO W THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the St® Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the County Board approves I the concept of two: mandatory license plates on a particu- lar vehicle;and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVEDthatthe St. Croix County Board of Supervisors recommends to the Wisconsin Assembly,that the Assembly passes an amendment providing for two mandatory license plates per vehicle, and BE IT FURTHER RE80LVED that should such an amendment be passed by the :Assembly that the St. Croix County Board of .Supervisors recommends to the State Senate that it proposes and passes.an amendment -which -makes two license plates mandatory on a particular vehicle; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County-Clerk+for St. Croix County send copies of this resolution to AssemblymanI Harer, Assemblyman Paulsen:.Assemblyman Harsdorf, and State Senator Michele Radosevich.
