WHEREAS, Mr. Cleon O. Garley presently owns real estate located
in the assessor's plot in the Village of Somerset which land borders County
Trunk "I"; and
WHEREAS, an attorney for Mr. Garley has sent a.quit claim deed to
St. Croix County which conveyance proposes to. convey to Mr. Garley all land
located west of the west right-of-way line of County Trunk "I", which is
purportedly owned by Mr. Garley, and
WHEREAS, the District Attor ey.h s investigated Mr. Garley's
particular claim and concludes that the original conveyance from William and
Lois Bergeron to St. Croix County dated August 7, 1941, and recorded in
Vol. 257, page 205, is somewhat inaccurate and could be misinterpreted to
include land which St Croix County does not need for the right-of-way for
County Trunk Highway "I"; and
WHEREAS the District Attorney recommends that the proposed quit
claim deed be executed by the County Board.Chairman and the County Clerk,
NOW, THEREFORE, DE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors meeting in regular session that the proposed quit claim deed from
St. Croix County to Cleon O. Garley is hereby authorized by said Board to be
executed by the County Board Chai n and the County Clerk in the presence
of the District Attorney for St. Croix County.
