TO URGE THE STATE BUREAU OF AGING TO ALLOCATE 100 % OF OLDER AMERICAN
ACT, 1979 TITLE III B SUPPLE TA% FUNDS TO COUNTY AGING UNITS
WHEREAS, under the Older American Act, 1979, Title III B, County Aging
Units in Wisconsin received funds to provide and support community service'
programs for the elderly; and

WHEREAS, HR 4389, the Labor -HEW Appropriation Bill, which is now under
consideration by Congress would increase,Title III B funding for Wisconsin
by approximately 1.5 million dollars; -and
WHEREAS, in 1951 Title III C Nutrition funding can no longer be utilized
to fund said supportive services; and
WHE S, the additional Title III B_supplemental funding could be
utilized to fund said supportive services; and
WHEREAS,, the State.Bureau of - Aging will be responsible for developing an
allocation formula for the disbursement of these additional funds.; and
WHEREAS, the Bureau is considering allocating 60% of these funds to
County Aging Units and 40% to Area Agency's on Aging; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Council on Aging believes, that said .
supplemental funds would be more effectively used.on the local level
~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT SOL D, that.the St. Croix County Council on
Aging urge -the State Bureau of Aging to allocate the entire Title III B
Supplemental funding to County Aging Units..
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Aging Unit Director send this resolution
to: Mr. Douglas Nelson, Administrator, State Bureau of Aging; Mr. Donald
Percy, Secretary of Health and Social Services; Governor.Lee Dreyfus;
Senator Michele Radosevich; and Representative Robert Harer, enclosing
the attached letter.
TRAT.THIS RESOLUTIONshallbecome effective upon adoption and passage
