HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1979 (78)RESOLUTION # Y ?) RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDS AND ACCEPTING FUNDS FOR A CONSOLIDATED SERVICES OFFICER FOR THE COMMUNITIES OF ST. CROIX COUNTY WHEREAS, St. Croix County has had a high rate of serious criminal offenses which have overburdened available law enforcement personnel on the county and municipal level, and WHEREAS, there has been a resultant decline in the offense clearance rate of the Sheriff's Department since 1975, and WHEREAS, since 1975 there has been a corresponding increase in the number of offenses reported and in the caseload of deputies now with the Sheriff's Department, and WHEREAS, local, municipal police departments which are not full-time law enforcement agencies are requesting assistance from the Sheriff's Department in handling their criminal investigations, and WHEREAS, it is intended that the Consolidated Services Officer will develop close working relationships with all full and part-time law enforcement agencies within St. Croix County, and WHEREAS, working with local municipal agencies within the County on a full-time basis, the Consolidated Services Officer will be assigned all cases involving requests for assistance from local municipal agencies - and those cases in which joint county -municipal investigative work is necessary and required by the nature of the cases, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the St. Croix County Board of Superviosrs authorize application for and, if granted;= -accept funds in the amount of 100 percent for a Consolidated Services Offioe.to assist local, municipal law enforcement agencies, and - BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Sheriff is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the granting agency to assure compliance with terms of the grant application for a period of one year or as long as grant funds are available.
