HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1979 (85)Whereas, the Women, Infants and Children (W.I.C.) Nutrition Program provides
supplemental foods, such as milk, egos, cheese, juice and iron -fortified
cereal to pregnart and lactating women, infants, and children under 5, and
Whereas, the W.I.C. Program will be available to approximately 687 low-income
women and children at nutritional risk in St. Croix County, and
Unereas, the St. Croix County Public Health Nursing Agency provides compre-
hensive maternal - child programs and can coordinate the W.I.C. Program with
existing programs and clientele, and
Whereas, the program is operated with 100%, federal dollars from the U.S.D.A.,
and
Whereas, the administrative cost of the program can be minimized by utilizing
a multi -county unit as the programs geographical base (Polk and St. Croix
Counties), and
Whereas, St. Croix County would be the Administrative agency and would utilize
the federal funds to employ a full time Director/Nutritionist, one part time
clerical, and one part time Home Health Aide, contingent upon the continued
availability of federal funds from the Department of Health and Social Services.
Be It Therefore Resolved, that St. Croix Counts make a �,rar_t application in
