RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDS AND ACCEPTING FUNDS FOR A
SOLID WASTE PLANNING STUDY
WHEREAS, the population of St. Croix County has increased
25.4 percent between 1970 and 1979, and
WHEREAS, increased population has resulted in the generation
of additional solid waste, and
77HEREAS, many small, municipal and township landfills have
been closed since 1970, and
WHEREAS, strict environmental standards have made it increasingly
difficult for local units of government to find and finance new solid
waste disposal sites, and
WHEREAS, the state has provided through the Wisconsin fund a
50 percent matching grant for completing county -wide solid waste disposal
plans,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors authorize application for a grant totalling $14,885.00
and if granted, accept funds to complete the County Solid Waste Disposal
Plan, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Board Chairman and
County Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with the granting
agency to assure compliance with terms of the grant application.
