`V%-hE,LEAS, assembly Bill 515 would require specific protection
for wetlands under county shoreland zoning and would further authorize
the Department of natural Resources and local governments to place
restrictive orders on key wetlands to permanently limit filling, grading,
draining, excavation, or construction of buildings, and
'r�LREAS, another provision of AB 515 states that the epartr;ent of
j tural Resources must issue a restrictive order on a wetland if petitioned
tc .-10 so by five or more persons, and
',IiERE:=�S, a further provision of AB 515 includes a 60 day notice
provision prior to co=lenci.ng any activity on a wetland, and
,Q°,'riEREAS, by passing AB 515, the legislature would be further
reducing the property tax base for townships in St. Croix County, and
TEREA: , it is deemed to be in the rest interests of St. Croix
County to oppose AB 515,
THEREFORE BE'' IT RESCUED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the .Board go on record
as opposing AB 515, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent by
the County Clerk to Assemblyman Robert Tearer and State Senator Michele
�adosevich.
