HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1980 (14)RESOLUTION NO. _ L�_S, C' ELIGIBILITY OF COUNTY BOARD MEMBERS TO SERVE CONCURRENTLY AS COUNTY EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 993 would permit nonsupervisory employees of a county to serve as a member of the county board of the county by which they are employed; and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 155 included similar provisions and was opposed by the St. Croix County Board; and WHEREAS, the bill would also permit county board supervisors to accept nonsupervisory positions in the employment of the same county; and WHEREAS, this bill could lead to a situation where a nonsupervisory employee/county board member could be put in a position of having control over this employee's department head; and WHEREAS, this bill could also tend to give county board supervisors an unfair advantage in acquiring county employment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, that this Board go on record as being opposed to Assembly Bill 993; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded by the County Clerk to Governor Dreyfus, State Senator Radosevich and State Assemblyman Harer. `�^ Passed and adopted this �� day of 1980. ,/,lG��'L-�i Negative Robert Boche William Shay Benjamin George GENERAL SERVICES COMMITTEE Affirmative 'Robert Boche William Shay BenjamiiO George
