RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE ST. CROIX COUNTY AG LAND
PRESERVATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Legislature adopted the Farmland Preservation
Act as an incentive for property owners to preserve agricultural land, and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors directed that the
St. Croix County Comprehensive Planning, Zoning and Parks Committee and
the Ag Land Planning Advisory Committee prepare an Ag Land Preservation
Plan for St. Croix County, and
WHEREAS, all the towns represented in the plan have helped prepare
and reviewed the town plans presented in the composite county plan; and
WHEREAS, the Plan will facilitate Farmland Preservation for the
benefit of the citizens and economy of St. Croix County; and
WHEREAS, the Plan will enable interested and qualified farmers to
take advantage of the state's tax rebate program through individual contracts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors meeting in regular session that they adopt the St. Croix County
Ag Land Preservation Plan as the official policy guide for preserving
farmland in St. Croix County.
