Recent legislation amending Section 973.09(1) of the
Wisconsin Statutes pertaining to restitution and the adoption
of a. newly created Section 973.09(1)(m) directing the appointment
of an agency to determine and document a crime victim"s pecuniary
loss and mandating that this shall be an official of a law en-
forcement agency; and the matter having been called to the atten-
tion of the Finance Budget Committee of St. Croix County; and
the statutes requiring a county board action as to a direction as
to who shall be responsible for the collection of restitution,
and having been -advised that the Department of Health and Social,
Services, Division of Con-imunit.y Corrections is now and at this _time
willing to continue to collect the restitution as ordered by the
Court and pay the same over to the Office of the Clerk of Courts
for final distribution;
BE.IT RESOLVED that restitution as ordered by the Courts
of St. Croix County in criminal cases shall be collected by the
Wisconsin .Department of Health and Social Services, Division of
Community Corrections, who shall upon such collection turn the same
over to the Clerk of Courts for St. Croix County, Wisconsin, far
distribution to the persons entitled thereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this order shall be effective
on and after duly 1, 1980.
