WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Highway Trunk system received considerable more
damage to the road surfaces during the spring break up period this year than
at anytime in memory, and
WHEREAS, there appears to be approximately 36 miles of county trunk highways
that should be resurfaced with a bituminous overlay and 22 miles of county
trunk highways that should receive a chipseal resurfacing this year to save
our investment, and
WHEREAS, the funds remaining in the "County Maintenance & Snow Removal Fund"
at this time are approximately $475,000.00 for all of the maintenance functions
for the balance of 1980, including but are not limited to; snow removal, moAhg
and brush control, surface and base repairs, emergency repairs and supervision
are not sufficient to fund the maintenance duties charged to this department,
and
WHEREAS, our project "80-CC-l" a non-FAS project had been scheduled to be let
and constructed in conjunction with "80-C-1", and
WHEREAS, with these two projects (connecting) "80-C-l" and"80-CC-l" being
delayed until 1981 for construction and most of the funds appropriated for them
will not be expended until 1981, and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Highway Committee and Commissioner believe it
would be in the best interests of St. Croix County for these funds not needed
in 1980 for the above named projects in the amount of $460,000.00 be transferred
from the "Road Construction - County Trunk Highway System Fund" to the "County
Maintenance & Snow Removal Fund" and
WHEREAS, it takes action.by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors to transfer
funds from one highway department fund to another highway department fund,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
does hereby direct the County Clerk to transfer the amounts of $50,000.00 and
$410,000.00 from the "Road Construction - County Trunk Highway System Fund",
projects "80-C-l" and "80-CC-1" respectively to the "County Maintenance & Snow
Removal Fund
