WATT!R MLITY DESIGNATED MAN AGTMM4T AGMXY
WHMEAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources
has been authorized to provide areawide water quality man-
agement plans pursuant to Section 208 of the Federal Water
Polution Control Act Amendments of 1972 (PL 92-500); and
WHEREAS, these plans must designate management agencies
to implement the plains at the local level; and
Wf REAS, the St. Croix County, Soil and VTater Conservation
District has evaluated its statutory authorities under Chap-
ter 92, Wisccnsi.n Statutes; and
'a",UT EAS, Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCD) have
for decades conducted land management programs to acheive soil
and water conservation objectives; including educational',
planning, technical assistance, and cost sharing elements; and
WHEREAS, these programs have been carried out in coop -
oration with private and public landowners and landusers; and
in harmonious and mutually beneficial relationships with county
governm(�n t s ; and
NOW., THIiREFORE BF IT R,--,'SOLVED, that. St. Croix County
Soil and Water Conservation District and the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors shall be the designated management a-
gencies for implementation of nonpoint source elements of
water pollution abatement plans; and
