COUNTY HIGWAY PATROL.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, St.. Croix County presently has a Sheriff's Department
and a separate Highway Patrol, and
WHEREAS, the subject of merger of these two departments has been
studied at length by various -Committees of the County Board since 1968,
and also by Fred A.. Wileman, Associate Professor, Institute of Govern-
mental Affairs, of the.University of Wisconsin --Extension in a report
to.the County Board in 19.76, and
WHEREAS, all previous resolutions regarding the subject of merger
have been tabled,
NOWT THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the County Board Chairman
appoint a.committee for the expressed purpose of effecting the merger
of the St. Croix County-Sheriff'=s Department and the St.- Croix County
Highway Patrol, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that the said committee shall consist of at
a minimum one person from the Law Enforcement Committee_ and one person
from the Highway Committee, together with at least one additional member
from the County Board.,
