HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1980 (57)Resolution # 7 !'u HICROFILIIIIING OF PUBLIC RECORDS WHEREAS, Wis. Stats. Section 889.30, et seq., provides that a county board may, by resolution, approve the microfilming of any of the public records, papers,documents, or court records of the county, in lieu of retaining the original records in the various county offices, and WHEREAS, the county board must also, by resolution, approve the type of microfilm to be used in copying the said records, and WHEREAS, the Microfilm Department of St. Croix County is presently using cartridge microfilm when microfilming various county records; and WHEREAS, the Register of Deeds Office is presently using aperture cards when microfilming documents recorded in that office, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Super- visors, meeting in regular session, that, pursuant to Wis. Stats. Section 889.30, et seq., the use of microfilm is hereby approved, effective im- mediately. and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any elected official or appointed officer of St. Croix County, including the Clerk of Court, may cause any of the public records, papers, documents, or court records, listed in Wisconsin Statutes Section 59.715 and kept by him or her to be photographed, micro photographed, or otherwise reproduced on film, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the use of either cartridges or aperture cards are specifically authorized by the county board for the above men- tioned purposes, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any such photographic reproduction shall be deemed to be an original record for all purposes, provided that the microfilmer shall comply with Wisconsin Statutes Section 889.30(3)(b).
