Shilts DATE: April 13, 2005 COPIES TO:County Clerk News Media /Notice Board Committee Members St. Croix County Traffic Safety Commission meeting was held April 20, 2005 at the Sheriff's Department in Hudson at 1:30PM. Present were: Charles Grant, Buzz Marzolf, Brian Erickson, Greg Helgeson, Dennis Johnson, Jim Harer Pam Dabruzzi and John Shilts. Meeting was called to order by Chairman Shilts. Motion to adopt the agenda made, seconded and approved. Motion to accept minutes of January 19, 2005 was made and approved. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Mr. Helgeson stated they will be putting in an all way stop at Hwy. 65 and I94 south side ramp. Work is going on now. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Helgeson discussed the issue of semis parking on the ramps on I94. Mr. Harer stated the semis park on both sides of the ramp east bound from CTH T which makes it hard to do plowing and other maintenance. Mr. Helgeson asked the committee to endorse the state signing the ramps for "No Parking ". A motion was made to draft a letter in support of the DOT's efforts to sign ramps on I94, restricting parking. Motion was made by Mr. Grant and seconded by Mr. Erickson. Motion was approved. Mr. Helgeson discussed the E junction of Hwy 64/63 W of Forest intersection. Left turn lanes with some widening was an option discussed. Mr. Marzolf stated that many Troy Township residents do not like the idea of Glover Rd access being removed off of Hwy. 35. Mr. Grant asked about the timing on the traffic lights at Hwy. 12 and CTH UU. Mr. Helgeson stated that they are gap controlled with sensors. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Johnson stated the daily fatality report for WI this year at this time is 185, last year at this time it was 199. Mr. Johnson pointed out some new traffic safety legislation being proposed.
