HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1981 (03)RESOLUTION NO. / ) A RESOLUTION SETTING FORTH THE SALARY AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ST. CROIX AND ST. CROIX COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT EMPLOYEES LOCAL 662, GENERAL TEAMSTERS UNION DATED JANUARY 1, 1981. BE IT RESOLVED by the County Board of the County of St.: Croix as follows: Section 1. St. Croix County Law Enforcement Employees, Local 662, General Teamsters Union, for the year January 1, 1981 _ through December 31, 1981 are hereby adopted; That a copy of said amendments to the Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference as though fully set forth herein. Section 2. That all resolutions or parts of resolutions contravening the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. .. Section 3. That if any part or parts of this Resolution are invalid, it shall not invalidate the entire Resolution. Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication, and all wages and benefits shall be paid in accordance with said amendments to the Agreement -from January 1, 1981. CROIX COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT UNION Summary of 1981 Settlement Only those Articleswhichwere amended in the 1981 negotiations are listed. Article II - PROBATIONARY-PERIOD/BARGAINING UNIT WORK A) -Amend Section 1 to provide for a probationary period of one (1) year. B) Delete Section 2 from contract, and add Article 2, Section 2 as set forth.in the 1980 Addendum. This section gives language.for filling bargaining unit vacancies. C)_. Amend Section 4 to reflect that relocation (within specified school district) shall be accomplished within eighteen (18) months after date of hire. Article V - SENIORITY ..Delete Section 9 — Shifts to reflect the Sheriff's Department going to rotating shifts (5/2, 5/3) of 8!'5 hours per day. No overtime paid on the extra -half (2) hour. Article VI - WORK WEEK/CALL IN PAY A) Amend Section 1 to provide for a normal work day of 8.5 hours for the Sheriff's Department and 8 hours for the Traffic Department. B)- Delete language in Section 3 "regularly scheduled 8 hours" and add "normal work day." This language for call in pay will clarify, along with Section 1, the hours in a normal work day. Article XI - MEDICAL INSURANCE Amend to provide for a County contribution of ninety five dollars ($95.00) per month towards.the health insurance premium for 1981. Article XII - SICK LEAVE Amend to provide for a maximum accumulation of sick leave of eighty four(84) days. Article XIII - FUNERAL LEAVE Delete contract language and add the following: A. An employee who has served his/her probationary period shall be granted funeral leave with pay, not to exceed eight (8) hours compensation per day, for a period not to exceed three (3) days, for time lost due to a death.in the employee's immediate family as defined herein in the "schedule for funeral leave: paragraph C. Paid funeral leave shall commence the day following the death of employee's immediate relative and shall end on the day of the funeral, but in no event will more than three (3) days be paid, and only for those days employee lost work and not for those days an employee is not required to report for work. Payment for funeral leave is subject to the following: 1. Employee must attend the funeral. 2. Funeral leave pay will not be paid if employee is not working due to illness; leave of absence for any reason; layoff; or any other non - work status, other than vacation, at the time of the death of the relative. 3. Employee may be requested to substantiate his/her claim for funeral leave. 4. Only one paid leave shall be granted in the event of multiple deaths occurring during the same period. B. An employee will be granted one (1) day funeral leave to attend the funeral of other relatives as outlined in "schedule for funeral leave" -Paragraph C. Paid funeral leave shall be subject to the same limitations as outlined herein in Paragraph A. �C. Schedule for 'Funeral Leave Relative of Employee Days of Funeral Leave. B) Delete 1980 reopener language C) Add language requesting notice of intent to negotiate.
