WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes, Section 59.21 provides that a Sheriff may grant a leave of absence to a deputy sheriff and appoint him Undersheriff during the said Sheriff's term of office, and WHEREAS, to do so, the Sheriff must first secure the consent of the County Board by a resolution duly adopted by the County Board,and ?'oHEREAS, Sheriff LuVerne J. Burke has appointed Deputy Sheriff Max Ihrke to be the Undersheriff for St. Croix County during his term of office, and WHEREAS, at the present time, Deputy Ihrke is in the bargaining unit of Local 662 of the General Teamsters Union, and ' WHEREAS, Deputy Ihrke is desirous of obtaining a leave of absence from said union for the term of the present Sheriff. He is further desirous of retaining all seniority benefits which he presently enjoys, and further is desirous of retaining all benefits that union members are entitled to under the union contract while he would be the Undersheriff for St. Croix County, and WHEREAS, the Business Agent for Local 662 of the General Teamsters Union has indicated in writing that the union has no opposition to such a leave of absence until the end of the current term of the Sheriff so long as it is approved by the County Board, pursuant to Section 59.21 of the Wisconsin Statutes. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Board of. Supervisors consents to Deputy Max Ihrke becoming Undersheriff for St. Croix County during the term of the euTpent Sheriff, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board approves of a leave of absence by Deputy Ihrke from the bargaining unit of Local 662 of the General Teamsters Union for said period of time. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board agrees that Deputy Ihrke should main- tain all seniority benefits that he presently enjoys while acting as Undersheriff for St. Croix County, including all seniority rights as mentioned in the current Law Enfore- ment Agreement with said union, pursuant to Section 59.21(1) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
