__. CCR,1UNITY OPTIONS PROGRAM
(Letter of Intent)
�, the State of Wisconsin 1981-1983 Biennial Budget Bill provides
fora new program entitled Com mity Options to undertake the development of a
community -based long-term support systems as an effective alternative to nursing
home care for elderly and disabled persons; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services is
authorized to select as many as eight (8) volunteer counties to participate in
,the calendar year 1982; and
WHEREAS, the counties who are interested in serving as volunteer
counties in 1982 must submit Letters of Intent to the Wisconsin Department of
Health and Social Services by September 24, 1981; and
WHEREAS, counties selected for participation in the program for 1982
have until a selected date in October, 1981, to accept their selection to
participate; and
WHEREAS, volunteer counties will be provided with the applicable
Community Options Program policies and guidelines prior to the established
October date to assist counties in making a final decision to accept participation
in the program on a'volunteer basis in 1982; and
WHEREAS, some interest as been expressed to explore the possibility of
developing the new program in St. Croix County on a volunteer basis for the
calendar year 1982, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that St. Croix County submit a Letter
of Intent on voluntary participation in the Community Options Program in 1982
with the final decision to accept selection to participate subject to acceptable
state funding and State Community Options Program policies and guidelines.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this matter be returned to the St. Croix
County Board of Supervisors for a final decision in October, 1981, if St. Croix
County is selected as a volunteer county to participate in the program in 1982.
