My wife, and two children (2 and 3 years old), rehabilitated an unlivable and unsafe property over the past 2 years. Given our love of nature and the St. Croix valley, we wanted to restore the property W its natural beauty, which required certain structural improvements, safety measures, dead/diseased tree removal and native Wisconsin prairie restoration. A summary of work performed along with supporting documents Is below. For all of the work preformed (both construction and land restoration), we hired licensed professionals to ensure projects were completed correctly and within guidelines set forth by local laws and regulations. Both companies appeared to be reputable and have had roots in the local area for many years. That said, for anything that was not considered to be within the guidelines, we sincerely apologize to the entire community. As we move forward, we are committed to preserving and maintaining the land's beauty for many generations to come. Some of the work to restore the land is outlined in the section titled"Plant Health Rehabilitation Program". Hazardous Tree Removal: A call was placed Into St. Croix County to provide notification of dead/diseased tree removal on the property. The property hadn't had ANY tree removals, maintenance or treatments for the past 35 years, leading to significant structural issues related W overgrowth, end of lifespan, disease and invasive species. The property still today carries approximately 14 different tree species and over 180 trees total. • Northwest of Property: 0 2 Black Locust with major structural issues (Example Included In picture below) 0 3Boxelder with structural decay at foundation 0 2 Ash with emerald ash borer dead Southwest of Property: 11 Oak removals with oak wilt (Photos below showing spread of Oak Witt) 0 4 locust with major base decay&structural concerns, learning towards home 0 1 leaning boxelder left back with storm damage split center stem 0 1 elm diseased decay L"Xd' Plant Health Rehabilitation Program: During the course of the project, I've invested a significant amount of time and money into improving the natural environment, planting new trees and native species of prairie, while treating and maintaining existing trees. A summary of this work is below. The previous retaining wall used to hold up the driveway was rotting and falling down, so it was replaced for structural Integrity and safety (a picture of the pmvfms retaining wag Is shown below). • The measurements are approximately 52ft x 1.5ft (north to south) and Slit x 1.511 least W west towards road). These are approximately the same dimensions of the previous retaining wall. Hillside Retaining Wall: • A limestone retaining wall was established due to extremely steep and unsafe hillside by licensed professional. • After having our child(2 years old at the time) tumble down the hill, we wanted something in place for safety. This boulder wall was intended to create a natural and safe barrier between the yard and the hillside for our 2 and 3 year old children on the property. • The measurements are approximately 90.1ft x 1.5ft(north to south). • Note— Upon purchasing the property, there were already pre -constructed stairs leading down the hillside to the river. We put In place three stone stairs leading to the already existing stairs so we could access them safely, The measurements of these stairs are Eft x A ft. Patio: Patio Under Peck: A cement patio measuring 76ft 6.1in x 12ft was installed below our deck an the west side of the house. This patio was installed by a licensed general contractor, who Indicated to me that all required permitting was completed. Second Driveway: Upon purchase of the praperty, there was already a pre -established driveway on the south side of the house that consisted of crushed stone/pebble/asphalt. This was cleaned up, removed from the property and replaced with woodchips.
