Senate Bill 766
TO THE CHAIRMAN AND SUPERVISORS OF THE
St. Croix COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
Supervisors:
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin State Legislature has before it
Senate Bill 766; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 766 would eliminate the record keeping
requirements of Sections 59.39(5), 59.39(6), and 851.72(4),
Wisconsin Statutes, which require clerks of court and registers
in probate to maintain duplicate copies of certain court records;
and
WHEREAS, it is clear that these records are costly to
maintain and of no value; and
WHEREAS, it is the obligation of county governments to
carry out their functions in the most efficient and fiscally
responsibly�,manner possible;
BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors that it herewith supports the adoption of
Senate Bill 766; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the St. Croix County
Clerk send a certified copy of this resolution to the following:
(a) Honorable Lee Sherman Dreyfus,
Governor of the State of Wisconsin
(b) Senate Commitee on State and Local Affairs
