SERVICES COMMITTEE AND THE USER BOARD TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES COMMITTEE.
Resolution #
WHEREAS, at present the Public Protection -Emergency Medical Services
Committee consists of 14 members, each of whom have been appointed by the
County Board Chairman for a term of two years, and
WHEREAS, at present a subcommittee of the Public Protection -Emergency
Medical Services Committee named the User Board, consists of 7 members, each
of whom are members of the parent Public Protection -Emergency Medical Services
Committee, and
WHEREAS, Resolutions 5 (74), 49 (77), 56 (80), and 6 (81) of the County
Board have prescribed various duties, responsibilities, and operating pro-
cedures for the present Public Protection -Emergency Medical Services Committee
and the User Board, and
WHEREAS, there exists some confusion in the general public, the County
Board of Supervisors, and the Public Protection -Emergency Medical Services
Committee concerning specific duties, responsibilities, and operating pro-
cedures for the present committee structure, and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of St. Croix County to
re -name the present committee and User Board, set forth a specific committee
membership, and refer to specific resolutions for duties and responsibilities
to the newly named committee,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT' RESOLVED by the St.Croi.x County Board of Supervisors,
meeting in regular session, that the Public Protection -Emergency Medical Ser-
vices Committee together with the User Board are hereby abolished and re -named
as the Emergency Services Committee effective immediately.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the membership for the new Emergency Services
Committee shall be as follows, with the present committee members remaining
on said committee without the necessity of being re -appointed by the County
Board Chairman:
One member from the Law Enforcement Committee,
One member from the Highway Committee,
One County Board member from the Health Committee,
One fire department chief,
One municipal police chief',
One member from ambulance services,
One member from a police agency,
The Captain of the St. Croix County Highway Patrol,
The Sheriff',
One member from hospital services,
The County Civil Defense Director,
One member from fire services,
One emergency room nurse, and
Two licensed physicians.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the duties, responsibilities and
operating procedures for the new Emergency Services Committee shall be
as set forth in Resolutions 49(77), 56 (80), and 6 (81).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the compensation for the Emergency
Services Committee members shall be paid only to County Board members
on said committee according to normal County Board committee membership
compensation.
