RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE ST. CROIX COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, ZONING,
AND PARKS COMMITTEE TO PROCEED WITH PLANNING FOR A SINGLE COUNTY LANDFILL
WHEREAS, disposal of solid waste will become an increasingly
critical problem in the future; and
WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors has
recognized this by preparing the Solid Waste Management Plan for St.
Croix County; and
WHEREAS, the -St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted the
Solid Waste Management Plan on November 17, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the Solid,Waste Management Plan.recommended after
thorough investigation of alternatives that St. Croix County proceed with
developing one county -wide landfill; and
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Management Plan recommended'the County
continue to monitor the feasibility of participating in resource
recovery or energy recovery;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the St. Croix County
Board of Supervisors reaffirms it's position to take necessary steps
to procure a county -wide landfill and .to continue to monitor the
feasibility of participating in resource recovery or energy recovery.
