SEMINARS, CONVENTIONS, CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS.

WHEREAS, St. Croix County presently has no written policy
concerning out -of -county travel by its employees, elected officials,
or county board supervisors, and
WHEREAS, with the number of both in -state and out-of-state;
seminars, conventions, conferences, andmeetingsbeing attended
by county employees, elected officials, or county board super-
visors, it appears to be in the best interest of St. Croix County
to establish a written policy for such travel,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board ,
of Supervisors, meeting in special session, that attendance by and
travel to any in -stage seminar, convention, conference, or meeting
by any St. Croix County employee, elected official, or county.board
supervisor shall first be approved by said employee's or official's
parent committee:
BE; IT FURTHER RESOLVED that attendance by and travel to any
out-of-state seminar, convention, conference, or meeting by a
St.. Croix County employee, elected official, or county board super-
visor shall in the case of an employee or official be first approved
by both the employee's or official's parent committee and the county
board, or in the case of a county board supervisor be first approved
by both a committee of the county board of which the said supervisor,
is a member and the county board,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this written policy does not cover'
attendance by or travel to any seminar, convention, conference, or
meeting by a St. Croix County employee or official when the seminar,
convention, conference, of meeting is held within St. Croix County.
BE.IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this written policy does not intend
.to cover travel by any law enforcement officer or elected official when
the said officer or official is acting in his official capacity.
