Resolution
WHEREAS, in the past, St. Croix County has settled in full
with all St. Croix County taxing districts for delinquent special
assessments, even though the county has no equity in such special
assessments, and
WHEREAS, this policy of settling in full for delinquent
special assessments is not required by Wisconsin Statutes, and
WHEREAS, such a policy is detrimental to ,the cash position
of St. Croix County,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board
of Supervisors, meeting in special session, that effective.January 1,
1983, St. Croix County shall not settle in full for delinquent special
assessments with the tax districts within St. Croix County, but
instead, will hold payments for such delinquent special assessments "
made by taxpayers in trust for collection pursuant to the provisions'
of Wisconsin Statutes Section 66.54(9)(c), and will thereafter remit'°
such collections to the various taxing districts within St. Croix
County as such payments are made by the St. Croix County Treasurer.;
