RESOLUTION TO INCREASE FEES FOR JURORS
WHEREAS, Section'756..25 of the Wisconsin Statutes establishes jury fees
and mileage, Every grand and petit juror summoned shall receive
an amount,,,.determined by the County Board for each mile actually
traveled each day in going and returning by the most usual route,
and,
WHEREAS, The per diem fee and mileage fee for jurors that has been in effect
for the past two years is $20.00 per day and .17G per mile, and,
t HEIREAS, More and more jurors are rqquesting to be excused from jury duty,
which is 'due in part to the inequitable monetary reimbursement for
travel costs and time away from work and,
WHEREAS, Witness fees presently paid by the County have been increased to .20G/mile,dnd,
WHEREAS, Other counties in this district;.are requesting increases for jury fees,
NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED, The St. Croix County Board of Supervisors
establish the fee for every grand and petit juror at $20.00 per day
and 20(,, per mile, and,
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the 'effective date of said increase be the first day
of the new term for jurors, that is, January lst, 1983.
