WHEREAS, the purpose of St. Croix County government is to
provide a safe and healthful environment for the citizens and
guests of the County, and
WHEREAS, the governing authorities hold the trust of the
citizens for the right and duty to formulate and promulgate safety
standards consistent with sound judgment, current practices, state
of the art, Federal, State and Municipal Codes, and the technical
and economic capabilities of the County; and
WHEREAS, it is the moral and economic responsibility of the
government of St. Croix County --and therefore, the citizens of St.
Croix County --to provide a safe and healthful workplace of employ -
meet for County employees;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the St. Croix County Board of
Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that each County Board Super-
visor and Department Head shall be accountable to the County Board for
the safety record and maintenance of an effective Safety Program in
his Department. County Board Supervisors and Department Heads shall
have the maximum of discretionary freedom consistent with the above
statement, in order to work out details of training, pre -employment
requisite, and other aspects of their Safety Program.
