WHEREAS, A Computer Study Committee was appointed by the Finance, Budget,
Building and Bond Committee to study the feasibility of computerizing various
County operations, and
WHEREAS, after a lengthy and comprehensive study, said committee has
recommended to the Finance, Budget, Building and Bond Committee that an
Electronic Data Processing system be purchased for the County, and
WHEREAS, said committee has further recommended to the Finance, Budget,
Building and Bond Committee that the Hewlett-Packard computer hardware together
with software from both Pacific Management Systems and Eau Claire County best
suits St. Croix County's needs, and
WHEREAS, the Finance, Budget, Building and Bond Committee has referred
the issue of the financing for said Electronic Data Processing system to the
Finance Director for his study, and
WHEREAS, the Finance Director has conducted such a study and together
with the Finance, Budget, Building, and Bond Committee has determined that
the most advantageous method of financing such an EDP system would be to borrow
from the State Trust Fund,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,
meeting in regular session, that St. Croix County enter into a contractual
agreement with Hewlett-Packard, Pacific Management Systems and Eau Claire
County for the purchase of an Electronic Data Processing System for St. Croix
County, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board Chairman and the County
Clerk are hereby authorized to execute such a contract with Hewlett-Packard,
Pacific Management Systems and Eau Claire County, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County shall apply to the State
Trust Fund for a loan sufficient to cover the purchase price for such an
Electronic Data Processing System for the County in the amount of approximately
$260,000.
