HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 1983 (28)RESOLUTION ORDERING COUNTY CLERK TO EXECUTE TAX DEEDS TO ST. CROIX COUNTY WHERE REAL ESTATE TAXES HAVE NOT BEEN PAID IN EXCESS OF 3 YEARS. Resolution # 3� WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 75, Tax Sales, provides a procedure for a county to acquire a tax deed on real estate where real estate taxes have not been paid for a period in excess of 3 years; and WHEREAS, the St. Croix County Treasurer has followed the statutory procedures as outlined in said Chapter and presently holds tax certificates, unredeemed as provided by law, on many parcels of land within St. Croix County; and WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes Section 75.36(2) provides that the County Board shall, by resolution, order that tax deeds be executed by the County Clerk to the County; and WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes Section 75.35(2) et seq. enables a County Board to delegate its powers to manage and sell tax deeded lands to a committee of the County Board, or to any officer or department of the County. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors, meeting in regular session, that the County Clerk for St. Croix County is hereby ordered to execute to St. Croix County, tax deeds pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes Chapter 75,for those parcels of land upon:.which the county presently holds a tax certificate which has not been redeemed as provided by law, which lands are more particularly set forth on a list kept at the St. Croix County Treasurer's Office. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board hereby delegates its powers to manage and sell these above indicated tax deeded lands to the Finance, Budget, Building, and Bond Committee pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes Section 75.35 (2), et seq.
