COUNTY BOARD MEMBERS AND EMPLOYEES.

WHEREAS, from time to time it has been shown to be necessary for St. Croix
County to advance travel allowances to both County Board members and employees; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County does not have a written policy concerning such
travel allowances to its County Board members and employees; and
WHEREAS, the General Services Committee has considered such a written policy
and recommends that the below described written policy be approved by the entire
County Board of Supervisors,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors,
meeting in regular session, that effective October 18th, 1983 , advance
travel allowances may be authorized and issued for County Board members and
employees under the following circumstances:
(1) FOR TRAVEL IN -STATE: Upon the written authorization signed by
the Chairman of the employees parent committee or the Board members
subject matter committee, the County Clerk may advance 750/- of the
estimated expense for any meals, lodging, mileage, or non -airfare
commercial carriers.
(2) FOR TRAVEL OUT-OF-STATE: The County Clerk may advance 75% of
the estimated expense for any meals, lodging, mileage, or non -airfare
commercial carriers. Additionally, any such request for advances for
travel allowances for out-of-state travel must first be approved by
the entire County Board of.Supervisors. Thereafter, any such advance
travel allowances requested shall be by written authorization signed
by the County Board Chairman or his designee.
(3) ADVANCE TRAVEL ALLOWANCES FOR AIRFARE: Whether in -state or out-
of-state, advance travel allowances for airfare must first go through
the respective procedure to obtain the necessary written authorization
for such airfare. Thereafter, the County Clerk shall purchase such
entire airfare directly.
