CALL TO ORDER Council Chairman Ralph Bader, called the
meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
ROLL CALL Members present were: Gerald Peterson, Richard
Peterson, Irene Burch, Marguerite Sumner, Ralph Bader, Richard
(Buzz) Marzolf, John Mortensen, Alice Mullan, Carolyn
Weisenburger, and Jeanette O'Connell. Also present were: Sandy
Gehrmann, Tracy Davis, Renea Aeschliman, Gladys Ellefson,
Sylvia Heller, Janice Thompson, Shirley Marlette, Esther
Koosman, Julie Hillstead, Diana Fern, Bette Norman, Donna
Lamson, Marcia Chandler, Clarence Malick, and Dianne Rhein.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA A motion was made by Marguerite
Sumner and seconded by Jeanette O'Connell to adopt the agenda
as printed; motion carried.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be held on
Thursday, December 16, 2004.
ACTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES A motion was made by
John Mortensen and seconded by Rich Peterson to approve the
minutes with changes in the Roll Call paragraph on first page and
Committee Appointment paragraph on the second page; motion
carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Aidnii & Disabilities Resource Center REP: Long Term
Support is going to apply for the Aging & Disability Resource
Center Grant. The grant application will be requesting an
additional half time Benefit Specialist along with one full time
disability Benefit Specialist. The positions would be possibly

be funded through a contracted agency. The Mental Health unit
for St. Croix County is not interested in being part of the
resource center. Ron Lockwood and Sandy are hoping to
expand Community Health Partnership into St. Croix County to
help to take some pressure off of the CIP /COP waiting list. The
Resource Center would need an advisory council, project
manager, 1 Aging Benefit Specialist, and 1 full -time
Disability Benefit Specialist. If the IRIS program moved to a
resource center, a half time programmer would be needed. The
Aging Unit will not be changed except for the possible move
IRIS and Benefit Specialist.
Fall Caregiver Conference The conference was on November
TO a� t St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Hudson. Over 80 people
attended. Connie Goldman was the keynote speaker. Rena
Cleveland and Adorene Stuhl presented Life Quilt and the office
staff displayed the latest "fashions ". The day ended with a
boxed lunch.
NEW BUSINESS:
Customer Service Training -- Dianne Rhein: Dianne showed
a video on customer service in the Aging Offices along with an
overhead presentation. The Aging Difference Together we
make a DIFFERENCE.
9:45 Public Hearing - Tracy presented the 85.21 Grant to those
in attendance. The hearing closed at 9:56. See the attached
sheet for more information.
Retirement Planning: Ralph read Sandy's letter of resignation
to the Council. It will be effective January 21, 2005. County
Board Chairman Malick spoke to the Council regarding the
resolution passed by the County Board at its last meeting.
Secret Santa: Names for recipients and items need to be

brought to the office by Friday, December 10 Assurant,
formerly Fortis, has donated numerous items towards Secret
Santa this year. Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts has donated
over 80 quilts this year. Volunteers are going to deliver the
bags in the Hudson area. If you know of someone that would
like to volunteer for the holiday season, give the office number
and have them call to sign up.
STAFF REPORTS
Sandy's Report:
WINS called and informed us that they have some flu shots
left and would like to know if there was still a need in the area for
shots.
Sandy read results from a Long Term Support survey. The
survey found that most do not know what long term care means or
care until a crisis happens.
Tracy's Report: Monster Mash Bash was on the 29 of October.
Over 80 people attended and all had a great time.
SITEXENTER REPORTS
BALDWIN 103 people attended the Thanksgiving Day dinner.
Phyllis Chapin and Eleanor Boldt entertained. All activities are
going well. Last month there were four tables for Euchre and 500
for the card party.
DEER PARK Bill and Jan took the vans to inspection. New
Richmond participants attended the Thanksgiving Dinner. The
Halloween Bash was enjoyed by those that attended. On Veterans
Day the legionnaires preformed a short program and the Grannies
entertained.
GLENWOOD CITY: 64 meals were served for the
Thanksgiving Dinner with a sing -a -long with Paul Murtha. Cards
and bingo are going well. Planning an evening dinner with bingo.
HAMMOND: Enjoying the new freezer. Trying to get a video
exercise program going. The trip to Johnquist in Baldwin has

been postponed to a later date.
ROBERTS Lasagna supper was held on November 18 The
annual fundraiser will be on December P. The Christmas party
will be on December 13 The fire drill is scheduled for
December 1S with a presentation of equipment. Old fashioned
movie day is in the works. Interested in visiting other sites for the
noon meal or play bingo or cards. All other activities are going
very well.
HUDSON The volunteer banquet on November 16 went well.
The Grannies entertained and it was a blast. Foot Care and Blood
Pressure are going well. Music and sing -a -longs are enjoyed by
all. Nancy Plunkett has been coming and conducting exercise
classes. Open house is planned for December 16 th .
NEW RICHMOND Evening meal was held on November l l
for Veterans Day. Four VFW members presented the flag and
explained the folds of the flag. The Christmas party is planned for
December 20 with the Kitchen Band entertaining. The monthly
birthday party will be the same day. Joined the Deer Park site for
Thanksgiving Dinner. Planning a trip to Hudson to see the
Octagon House and supper our on December 15 Blood Pressure
is scheduled for once a month.
RIVER FALLS: Christmas dinner is planned for December 6 th at
the Westwind in River Falls. The Cardells will be performing.
The site has a new organ that was donated by Jim Steele which is
played on Tuesday by Iry Heider. Foot Care is going well with 20
people in attendance last time. November 30 is when the general
meeting will be held.
SOMERSET Halloween costume party was held. Enjoying the
new van. Thanksgiving Dinner served 40 people. Exercise is still
being done twice a week. A Christmas outing is still being
planned and it will possibly involve using the new van.
WOODVILLE Thanksgiving Dinner was prepared for 175
people between the Baldwin and Woodville sites. Planning

Christmas dinner for December 22n Bingo and the monthly
birthday party are going well. Participants attended the Halloween
Dance and the Caregiver Conference. Planning to use the van to
look at the Christmas lights.

Somerset — somewhere — Sometime
A motion to approve the van trips was made by Rich Peterson and
seconded by John Mortensen; motion carried.
