OFFICIAL
Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Emergency
Management /Emergency Communications Committee on Nov 10, 2004.
In Attendance: Chuck Mehls, Buck Malick, Charles Grant, Arthur
Jacobson, Douglas Briggs, Gary Kollman
Excused: Ron Volkert, Jim VanderWyst, Craig Nelson, Jack Colvard
Absent: Chuck Strumpke
Meeting called to order by Mehls at 8:05 a.m.
Baldwin Ag Center Telephone Bills
Kollman explained that the USDA owns the telephone system at the
Baldwin Ag Center and it pays the monthly telephone bills. By written
agreement, the County is responsible for a portion of the monthly
telephone bills. USDA is supposed to bill the County each year for their
portion. USDA has just issued bills for the years of 2001, 2002, 2003
and 2004. The yearly payment is a line item in the Emergency
Communications budget and 2004 can be covered by this year's budget.
Charges for 2001, 2002 and 2003 cannot be covered by this year's
budget. On a Malick/Grant motion is was unanimously approved to
request that charges for 2001, 2002 and 2003 be forwarded to the
Finance Committee to be paid from the Contingency Fund.
Storage of Communications Van
Mehls explained that he has been negotiating for heated storage for the
Communications Van at Baldwin. He is looking at a facility, which is
owned by the Village of Baldwin and leased to United Fire. United Fire
would then sublease a portion of it to the County for Storage of the
Communications Van and a trailer mounted generator.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:27 a.m.
Respectfully submitted
Gary Kollman, Recording Secretary
