Reconvene into open session to take any action. SUBMITTED BY: Debra Kathan, Personnel Director DATE: November 24, 2004 COPIES TO: County Board Office, County Clerk, News Media, Notice Board, and Committee Members PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING Official Date: December 3, 2004 Location: Government Center, Hudson The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Chairman Daryl Standafer. Members present: Standafer, Dick King, Esther Wentz, Lori Bernard, and Cindy Leonard. Also present: Debra Kathan. Moved (Wentz, King) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. Moved (King, Bernard) and approved to accept the minutes from the November 5, 2004 meeting. The next regularly scheduled meeting was set for January 7, 2005. The Personnel Committee has been asked to participate in a joint meeting with the Health and Human Services Board on December 10, 2004. Motion (Bernard, Wentz) to go into closed session per WI Stat. 19.85 (1) c for the purpose of continuing negotiations with the LAW bargaining team. Roll call vote: all aye; moved into closed session at 8:35 a.m. The Committee met with members of the Labor Association of Wisconsin (LAW) which represents the unionized deputies in the Sheriff s Department. Representing LAW were business agent Henry Kjentvet and local member Mike Winberg. Moved (Wentz, King) and approved to come out of closed session at 9:35 a.m. Standafer announced that a tentative settlement agreement had been reached between LAW and the County. LAW will provide for a membership ratification vote on December 6. The Personnel Committee will take the agreement to the County Board on December 14 for ratification. Both sides indicated that they would endorse the settlement. Standafer adjourned the meeting at 9:37 a.m. Respectfully submitted, Esther Wentz, Secretary
